The Win7codecs package which I have created does not change or interfere with what Microsoft has going on concerning native codec support in Windows Media Player 12 and Media Center.
DXVA accelerated H264 playback is provided by the codec package for all other capable players.

The latest release contains a new Settings Application which enables the user to choose a different splitters ‘on the fly’ for specific filetypes. The application will also allow you to choose from 10 different speaker configurations from ’same as input’ and all the way up to full 7.1 channel output.

Codecs have been a problem for most users at one time or another. This is because there has never been an ‘out of the box’ working solution that the average computer user could install and just have everything work properly from the beginning. There are several decent codec package solutions out there, but none of them did everything I wanted. I was always in need of a tweak, adjustment, or even a re-installation just to get the codecs I needed/wanted and most of the time, the file still didn’t play properly. Nero 7 is an all-in-one CD/DVD recording application suite and more.

The installation process is designed to fit everyone’s needs, whether you are a beginner, by choosing a typical installation, or you are an advanced user, by just selecting the components you need or a full install. The last installation step activates Nero Scout and allows you to select Nero to be associated with image, video, and audio files in order to ease access to Nero Home Media Manager. Nero Scout has integrated a brand new component called Nero Search, which provides quick searching capabilities on your computer or on the Internet.

Once the package is installed, you can choose to run your applications independently from Nero Home or from Nero StartSmart control center. Nero ShowTime is a fully featured multimedia player. You can play all types of video and audio files, including DVDs with subtitles and frame capture capabilities.

With Nero Recode you can recode non-copy protected movies (DVD-9 to DVD-5) to a CDR/RW, DVD+/-R or a single DVD+R DL disc in DVD-Video format (DVD-9 to DVD-9). It includes MP4 support for iPod encoding. You can import a DVD, select video and audio quality, get subtitles, or even recode it to 8cm DVD (1,4 Gb), DVD5 (4,7 Gb) or custom size video. Video files can be previewed in the internal viewer.

Nero PhotoSnap is not a very impressive image-editing tool. It can open a large array of image files and it features many effects such as image sharpening, color balance, lens distortions, rotate, redeye removal, etc. On the other hand, you cannot draw, add text, insert shapes, or convert images.

Nero ImageDrive is a virtual drive mounter, which supports integration into Windows Explorer as well as up to two virtual drives.

The interface is very well designed and it provides quick access to all Nero features like data, audio, or video CD burning. Converting audio CDs to audio files, encoding audio files with a large variety of extensions, copying CDs, backing up files, restoring back-ups, burning images, or erasing CDs are very accessible as well. You can also change the way Nero looks by choosing a skin of your liking. All usual file formats are supported.

There is also an extremely useful selection of favorite applications you can choose from, such as making data DVD’s, making mp3 or WMA DVDs, copying DVDs, backing up files, restoring back-ups, and burning images. The tools provided allow you to check drive speed, set burning rights for different users, and obtain system information.

Pluses: CD/DVD overburning, some nice utility tools such as system information, test CD/DVD drives for transfer rates, DAE quality, access/seek times, CPU usage, burst rates, etc., as well as controlling the cover, drive speed, and CD/DVD label manager. Nero 7 also supports burning of short Lead Outs. Thus, one can save up to 80 seconds when burning a CD/DVD, and has only 12 Mb of free storage location.

A great feature of Nero is InCD. An application which allows you to read discs written in MRW format on systems that do not support MRW as well as discs written in a UDF format that are not natively supported by your operating system. InCD is a drag-and-drop writing utility, which provides DVD-RAM, Blu-ray support, and DVD-RW quick format.

Drawbacks / flaws: Nero BackItUp lacks incremental and differential backup options, as well as the fact that it cannot create a full backup of the primary partition because the file system is in use.

In conclusion: Burning CD/DVD-Video, Photo, Data, Audio, or BackUp files, as well as mounting images. All utilities integrated in an extremely comprehensive and reliable package. A few minor flaws, but overall it’s an excellent program!

Windows 7 is the latest version of Microsoft Windows, a series of operating systems produced by Microsoft for use on personal computers, including home and business desktops, laptops, tablet PCs and media center PCs.
Windows 7 was released to manufacturing (RTM) on July 22, 2009, with general retail availability set for October 22, 2009, less than three years after the release of its predecessor, Windows Vista.

Windows 7 includes a number of new features, such as advances in touch and handwriting recognition, support for virtual hard disks, improved performance on multi-core processors, improved boot performance, DirectAccess, and kernel improvements. Windows 7 adds support for systems using multiple heterogeneous graphics cards from different vendors (Heterogeneous Multi-adapter), a new version of Windows Media Center, a Gadget for Windows Media Center, improved media features, the XPS Essentials Pack and Windows PowerShell being included, and a redesigned Calculator with multiline capabilities including Programmer and Statistics modes along with unit conversion. Many new items have been added to the Control Panel, including ClearType Text Tuner, Display Color Calibration Wizard, Gadgets, Recovery, Troubleshooting, Workspaces Center, Location and Other Sensors, Credential Manager, Biometric Devices, System Icons, and Display. Windows Security Center has been renamed to Windows Action Center (Windows Health Center and Windows Solution Center in earlier builds) which encompasses both security and maintenance of the computer. The default setting for User Account Control in Windows 7 has been criticized for allowing untrusted software to be launched with elevated privileges by exploiting a trusted application. Internet Spades, Internet Backgammon and Internet Checkers, which were removed from Windows Vista, were restored in Windows 7. Windows 7 will include Internet Explorer 8 and Windows Media Player 12. Users will also be able to disable many more Windows components than was possible in Windows Vista. New additions to this list of components include Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player, Windows Media Center, Windows Search, and the Windows Gadget Platform. Windows 7 includes 13 additional sound schemes, titled Afternoon, Calligraphy, Characters, Cityscape, Delta, Festival, Garden, Heritage, Landscape, Quirky, Raga, Savanna, and Sonata. A new version of Virtual PC, Windows Virtual PC Beta is available for Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate editions. It allows multiple Windows environments, including Windows XP Mode, to run on the same machine, requiring the use of Intel VT-x or AMD-V. Windows XP Mode runs Windows XP in a virtual machine and redirects displayed applications running in Windows XP to the Windows 7 desktop.
Furthermore Windows 7 supports the mounting of a virtual hard disk (VHD) as a normal data storage, and the bootloader delivered with Windows 7 can boot the Windows system from a VHD. The Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) of Windows 7 is also enhanced to support real-time multimedia application including video playback and 3D games. That means that Direct X 10 can be used in a remote desktop environment. The three application limit will be removed from Windows 7 Starter

- Use NERO to burn the ISO image called “faXcooL.Windows.7.Ultimate.ENG.x86-x64.ACTiVATED”
- Burning speed should not be faster than 4x. Otherwise, it might not work.
- Restart your computer.
- Make sure you’ve selected your DVD-ROM/RW drive as a first boot device
* Enter the BIOS pressing the DEL button, set the option, insert your Windows 7 installation and restart computer.
- The black screen will appear (image 01).
- Press any key to boot from CD or DVD…. (by pressing the key you’re entering the setup)
- Select your language, time and currency and keyboard input (optionaly)
- Click install now
- Choose your edition (x86 is 32-bit, x64 is 64-bit) depending of CPU type you have.
*Choose x64 if you have 64-bit processor.
- Click “I accept”.
- Click “Custom (advanced).
- Choose your partition/hdd drive where Win7 should be installed and click format.
*You might get some error if you have two or more hard disks with different connectors (ATA and SATA).
If you get an error, turn off one of your hard disks and repeat the whole proces.
- After formatting, setup will continue automatically and it will finish after 15-30 min.
- Next step would be username (Image 17).
- Type your password (if you want).
- When you get the screen for CD-KEY just ignore it leaving blank.
*Uncheck the box for automatically activation and click next.
- Choose the third option for next step.
- Select your time zone.
- Select your current location (Home is recommended).
- The black CMD windows will appear. Wait a few seconds until computers restarts once again.
- And that would be all about installation. You’re in Windows now.

- It’s not required, because it’s OEM. Windows will be premanently activated.
However, it’s well known that there is some problems with DELL and HP machines.
So if you have issues with pre-activation you’ll be forced to some activator to activate Windows 7.
